Revit Integration (Beta)

Important: The Revit Integration is currently only available to Beta users.

Install the Acelab Plug-in

  • Download the .exe file given to you

  • Open the file to install it

  • Accept the License Agreement

  • Click Next, and Finish


Sign-in

  • Open your project in Revit

  • Once the plug-in is installed, an Acelab tab will appear in your Revit workspace

  • Click on the Acelab tab

  • Click the Sign In button

    • This is the only active button until you sign in

  • Add your Email and Password (or choose to sign in with google) and click Sign in

    • Notice that after signing in, you have the option to sign out, and the other features have been enabled


Link Revit to an Acelab Project

  • Click Select Project

  • From the dropdown menu, select the project to which you want to assign products saved in Acelab's Materials Hub

    • Note that the dropdown menu includes all projects you've joined in Acelab

  • Click Next

  • A message that the project has been successfully linked will be displayed, click to Close it


Map Acelab Products to Revit Family

Note: You can map Acelab products to Revit families or materials. The steps below focus on mapping to families. To see the steps for mapping Acelab products to materials, jump to the next section.

  • Click Map Materials to link a product in the Materials Hub to a Revit family

  • Select the appropriate schedule from the drop-down menu

Note: All products saved to that schedule in the Materials Hub will appear, but placeholder products will not appear

  • To choose the product you want to link to an asset, click the Link Revit Asset button next to the product

  • Choose the asset by first selecting a Category

  • Select a Family Name

  • Click Select to choose a specific asset type, or Select All Types to choose all types available for that asset

  • Repeat the the last three steps above until all assets have been selected

  • Click Apply

  • The product you selected is now linked to the asset you chose

  • Click on the eye icon to see all assets linked to the product


Map Acelab Products to Revit Material

Note: The first 3 steps below are the same whether you are linking an Acelab to a Revit Family or Revit Material.

  • Click Map Materials

  • Select the appropriate schedule from the drop-down menu

  • To choose the product you want to link to a material, click the Link Revit Asset button next to the product

    • All products saved to that schedule will appear, but placeholder products will not appear

  • Instead of selecting a category and family name, click on the Map to Revit Material button at the top-right corner to switch from family selection to material selection

  • Select the material Class from the drop-down menu

  • Click the Select button next to the material

  • Click Apply

  • The product you selected is linked to the chosen material in Revit

  • Click the eye icon to view the material selected


View Acelab Product Information in Revit

Information from Acelab's database will be imported to Revit for all the products linked to a family or material.

View information linked to a family

  • Select asset

  • Click Edit type

  • In the Type Properties window, a scroll down to Identity Data

  • Information from Acelab's database will be displayed

View information linked to a material

  • Open the Material Browser

  • Select the material

  • In the Identity tab, information from Acelab's database will be displayed in the Product Information section


Sync with Acelab's Materials Hub

  • Click the Sync button from the top bar, or the Sync with Acelab button in the Mapping window

  • You will get a message when the sync has been successfully complete

  • Navigate to the Materials Hub, select the project you integrated with Revit

  • Go to Schedules and choose the schedule containing the materials you mapped to Revit

  • Add the Revit fields (columns)

  • Information from your Revit project will be automatically displayed in the schedule
